Mom's Visit to Atlanta

My mom came to visit me a month ago while Damien went to training in Denver for his job. We had a fabulous time. A few of the fun activities we did:

1. Found an authentic Italian pizzeria Antico-pizza Napoletana and had a delicious capricciosa pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, prosciutto, and fresh basil) which is my favorite! This restaurant is very cool because they have communal seating right there in the kitchen area. You can watch them make the pizzas right in front of your eyes!


2. Spent 2 hours by the pool and my mom was burnt crispy! I found this very comical because every time we go somewhere warm she always gets sun burned!

3. Went to Alon's Bakery which is delicious, except this midnight cake we got wasn't too hot.


4. Drove around quite a bit.


5. Went to the farmers market.


6. Went to the Atlanta Aquarium where we:

- pet sting rays and sharks

- saw some cool fish
- walked through one of those tunnels where you can see all of the fish swimming around you.

That huge shark you see in the picture below is a whale shark. They had four of them in this tank and they were all HUGE. (Side Note: Damien's boss went scuba diving in this tank with those huge sharks a couple of weeks ago.)

Hello Hotlanta

We have been in Atlanta for three weeks now and we quite enjoy it! The weather is nice and warm and there is a lot of culture and interesting people to watch. We really like our apartment and it is only about 2 miles from Damien's work. Here are some pictures of where we live.

My mom is coming to visit tomorrow while Damien goes for a week of training in Denver. I'm very excited to explore more of Atlanta with her!

Goodbye Provo

It's been sad to leave Provo behind; the place where Damien and I met and lived for our first few years of marriage. We enjoyed our time there and took a few pictures of special locations before we left!

The Farmers Market

On Saturday, Damien and I had the chance to go to the Dekalb Farmers Market and it was huge! They are open everyday of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas day. They have everything and anything you can imagine. All sorts of fruit and vegetables I have never seen before! Spices, pasta, foreign cheeses, and a meat market.

The meat market was quite interesting. The butchers were working there right in front of you cutting up fish and other pieces of meat. I was okay, although the smell of fish was strong, until we got around to the beef. As I was peering into the glass case as we walked by I was greeted be a large tub, and I mean LARGE tub, of these...


Yes, they are cow tongues. I lost my appetite for lunch at this point.

But it was a fun experience and I plan on returning soon. I have enjoyed some kiwi, blackberries, blueberries, and baguettes from here. All have been delicious!

We Graduated!

Damien and I have both graduated from college! I finished in December and Damien in April. Eden, Damien's sister, graduated last April from BYU Idaho. Eden and I both love the fact that we graduated before Damien. Thus the picture above showing our order of graduation!

Damien and I got to walk together in April. All of the family was there for the event and we had a great time! It feels so good to have us both done with school!
